Hi. I haven't been around much. I've been super super busy.

I'm having a short story published this summer in an anthology called Wing!fic.

The art for my short story is already up on the page. But here it is:

The anthology is published by Tropes Publishing House. A really cool publisher!

Hi guys!

I hope you all have a great Christmas and an ever greater New Year.

I'm still alive and doing well. I've had to change a few things in my life because things weren't working out for me.

I'm working on getting a better and more healthy sleep cycle and that has turned out to be so freaking difficult. I'm trying to better myself in a few different ways and I'm setting goals that I very much would like to reach.

  • I'm paying off my debt (car and apartment) and it seems I'll be done with that this time next year, maybe even sooner.

  • I want to start reading books again so I've been buying books and (very) slowly started reading through them.

  • I want to start drawing again and have started doing so.

  • I want to start writing again as well and have a lot of different ideas and half-written drafts.

I've spent a lot of time with my dog and he's just this ball of energy and lifeforce that I sometimes have a hard time keeping up with him :)

I've had a great summer :)

I've gotten so many things done and had a lot of fun.

I've had my loan changed in the bank so that I'll be done paying for my apartment in 2 years instead of the original 30 years (with 20+ years left to go). That way I can start to save for a house out of town. I'll be done paying for the car in 2 years so I'll be dept free pretty soon :)

The puppy is still a little crazy... cause well... he's a puppy. Almost house trained and knows how to sit and "shake paw". We're starting puppy school tonight and I'm really hyped about that.

I'm going to the garden today and hope there'll be some tomatoes to take home. We've had a kinda cold and rainy summer so the tomatoes have been a little late in ripening. I harvested all the turnips yesterday and dried them so I can save them for winter. I do the same with most of the squash.

Work starts on the 10th of August, thankfully. Having so much time off gets boring after some time.

by a scale.

I was pulling a box down from a shelf and forgot that my scale (for weighing myself) was standing on top of that box. So the scale slid off the box and hit me in the right side of my face just by my eye.

The skin broke, didn't bleed much so I went to my sister-in-law, a doctor, and had her take a look and see if I should go to the hospital. We ended up agreeing to just put some band aids on the cut, then leave it alone and I’d stay up a few extra hours to make sure I didn't have a concussion.

The area is a little puffy and turning slightly blu-ish.

Can't wait so see how it'll look when I get up tomorrow.

It'll be a boy and he's in one of these two litters. I haven't chosen yet and won't do that for 2-3 weeks yet.
I'm so freaking happy =)

Avengers 2

So I saw the new Avengers movie and it was good but well...

It didn't blow me away like the first one did. There is just so many times where things happened that weren't explained or even brought up again. A little bit like a kid telling a story and going “And then um… um… Thor goes to find this thing…and um… then he …. But then there’s also Jarvis and he’s like also doing things…”

More under the cut...

Don't click the cut if you don't want to be spoiled! SPOILERS ARE UNDER THE CUT!!!

Yesterday... after breaking down... I started finding all my dog's things. Her bed, bedding, leash, toys, food... just everything. I washed everything that needed washing and cleaned the rest. Then I started putting it into bags and boxes and storing it in closets and my basement locker.

The only thing I kept is her collar with her dog tags on it. I put that where I can see it all the time when I'm in the living room.

Today I'm working on making a photo book online of Perle and get that ordered.

And I've started looking for breeders. You might think that it's too soon but in July and August I have 6 weeks vacation and that would be the best time to get a new puppy. And a lot of breeders have waiting lists or already know that they'll have puppies ready around the end of June.

I'm looking for breeders that only have a few dogs and a few litters a year. And I'm looking for these breeds:

Bichon Frisé

Coton de tulear

Bichon Havanais

lhasa apso

Looking forward to the new dog that'll be in my life is the only thing keeping me more or less focused.
I'm going back to work tomorrow.

Took my dog to the vet this morning. Thought she'd just ate something that had upset her stomach.

Vet thought it might be her liver giving up... She said we're talking months here...

My best friend is slowly dying and I can't do fuck all about it.

I'm supposed to call the vet at 1 o'clock to hear what the tests say...

I'm honestly afraid of calling.

I found my old gilded baby shoes when I was helping my mom clean out a shed.
"Who would have thought you'd get giant feet" was my mom's comment : )

A bonsai tree.

I'm just scared that I'll end up killing the poor thing.

I'm good with plants. My home is filled with them but I'm weirdly scared that I'll buy the little plant and then just kill it.

I'll go buy one this week. Because I want to!

Damn it! I'll keep that little sucker alive if it kills me!

I'm facinated by the apple bonsai trees. Don't they look awesome?

I've been working on making my apartment the home I want it to be. I've decided not to save up for a house because even if I could do it I'd be forced to live on a stone after buying it. If something happened, roof flying off in a storm or water damage or some other unforeseen problem, I'd be forced to take a loan to pay for it. I really don't like the thought of that.

So I'll be staying in my apartment and I'll be renovating it so it fits my needs. I already bought a new oven :)

So there’s some stuff I need to get done:

  • The balcony will be closed off with windows so I'll have an extra room

  • I’ll be putting tile up in the kitchen.

  • I'll be painting a few places to make sure everything looks good

  • I'm going to buy some things I've been wanting for the apartment, bookcases and plants.

  • The garden house in my allotment garden will get fixed as well. It needs a new roof. I'll be buying some stuff for the garden that I've wanted for the last few seasons.

I feel much more contend now that I've made my final decision. I can see myself living in my apartment until I get so old I can't make it to the second floor anymore.

It feels like this year is going to be fucking awesome.

So my old oven, that was in the apartment when I bought the place, is too slow and uses way too much energy. So today i bought a new one. It'll be delivered Tuesday.

This is all part of making my apartment a home and not just a place I live while I wait for the time, probably never to come, when I'll have the money to buy a house.

I was looking for a bookcase or ideas on how to convert a dresser to a bookcase with a little DIY.

Then I see a link to a blog post all about how you need to style your bookcase...

Style it.

Style it?!

You don't style a bookcase with vases and frames and knick knacks!
You fill it with BOOKS!

Styling done!

I fill my life with so much that doesn't matter. I spend too much time watching vids and looking at pics of things that I really don't give a shit about. I'll even click links while thinking "Why are you doing that? You don't really give a damn about the thing you just clicked on!"

I keep filling my hours with podcasts that I listen to but don't really hear and reddit posts that I read and forget about 2 seconds after and bad fanfics that I read while thinking "this is really badly written why do I keep reading?"

The truth is that I'm just really filling up the silence with noise. Noise that doens't matter and noise that I honestly have no interest in. There are hours and days of my short life that I have filled with nothingness.

Time I should and could have filled with things that realy matter. Thing that I actually give a damn about.

It's gotten so bad that I have to listen to a vid with background noises just to be able to read. And a lot of the stuff I read is unimportant stuff, stuff I don't even enjoy reading.

Why the hell do I do this?

It has to stop.

And the first step is to block a large amount of sites on the internet so I can't access them without some hard work.

I'll go do that right now.

An old lady backed into my car.

The parking lot is closed off so you can only get out through one road and then you have to drive through a roundabout to get all the way out of the lot. But this old lady...
she backed out of her parking spot, so that she would have had to leave the parking lot through a god damn hedge. Or, if she was more adventurous, backed out all the way through the parking lot, filled with kids, and then have had to back out through the roundabout too.

And she backed out into my car and then said "Oh, I didn't see anything. I don't know what happened?!"

No shit, Sherlock!

What did you plan to do? Fly the car out of the lot? Because you would have killed a couple of kids backing out of the lot and through the roundabout. Or maybe you just planned to mow down the hedge?!

And now my insurance company tells me that she says it was both our faults so that I have to pay half of the costs of fixing my own fucking car.

Fuck you old lady! You admitted to my face that you’d fucked up. You told me that “of course” you’d pay for the damage!

I hope your stupid fucking lying face falls right off, cunt!

I was sitting in my car by the forest. I'd just walked an hour in the forest with my dog, taking routes we'd never walked before and almost getting lost. It was getting dark and I was sitting in my car sharing my lunch with my dog while holding a nice cup of warm tea.

And it hit me that this was a perfect moment.

Me, my dog, the darkness and the tea.

Rats have been trying to get in to eat my chicken's food. The rats are a health hazard so I have no choice but to kill the fuckers (the rats... not the chickens). And the rats are shitting on everything!

Yesterday I put a trap in the shed where I keep my chickens and today, after work, I found the first rat.

But the rat hadn't just died because its neck had been snapped.

Another rat had bitten the dead rat's stomach open and eaten its insides.

I buried the rat and put the trap up again.

With my luck we're talking zombie rats here.

I was at my mom's place and my mom points at her new bookcase. It's filled with small things like gifts from kids and grandchildren.

"See, that one?" she asks and points at an old, large jam jar. It's been painted yellow, green and blue. Not painted well and I remember seeing it at my mom's old place. Just being used for pens and random stuff. "Canan painted that."

We almost never talk about my half-sister. She died in 2001, she would have been 26 years old now.

"I told your dad," my mom says, "I told him I'd kept it all these years. Kept it safe."

My half-sister's mother got rid of everything when my sister died. And I mean everything! Nothing was kept and my dad just let her. I think he was in too much pain to really argue about it. She even made sure the kid was buried in Turkey instead of here in Denmark where her family is. I remember it felt like she was erasing the poor girl.

But my mom kept this stupid, ugly, badly painted jar.

Her mom would have thrown it out.
